Coming to SCSU I knew I wanted to join a club! I was so excited for the club fair and I couldn’t wait to see what club they were offering. The first club I went to was Colleges Against Cancer. Before I even went to the club fair, I knew I was going to join this club because it really did interest me. I loved all the activities that the club had planned out for the year. I’ve been around cancer a lot with my life because my grandmother had it for most of her life and passed away because of it and 2 years ago my aunt was diagnosed with it. My whole life I always wished there would be a cure for cancer. I loved what Colleges Against Cancer was about. They are associated with Relay for Life, fundraisers, American Cancer Society, and so much more. I want to be apart of anything having to do with helping cancer. I’ve attended all of the meetings and went to some of the outside activities. I was so excited about Relay for Life. I’ve never been to Relay for Life and I’ve heard so many good things about it. We decided the theme for it was the 90s and I can’t wait for spring to come. It’s just an amazing opportunity to be with survivors and remember those who lost their lives and raise money for an amazing cause. I love this club and I always look forward to going to meetings. I’ve made so many friends from this club. It’s an amazing club with many motivations and goals. I’m glad I decided to join this club and I chose this as my blog because it really does interest me. This is one aspect that makes me love attending Southern.
