Stay Healthy!

In college, you’re bound to get sick sometimes. I got sick the second week of school and had the cold for over a week. On top of it all there are many strategies you can take to try not to get sick. First and foremost, WASH YOUR HANDS! If you know your roommate or friend is sick, you need to make sure you wash your hands after any encounter with them. Purell will be your best friend. Don’t share towels to wipe your hands after you clean them with your sick friend. Use paper towels since they are thrown out right after each use. Another huge aspect of staying healthy is getting sleep. As college students it’s hard because of the new workload we are getting but if you just manage your time wisely and go to bed at a reasonable time, you can get a good nights sleep. Take naps if you are feeling sick. Another tip is to maintain healthy eating habits. Eating right will help you feel better and will be better for your immune system. You need to have foods that have vitamins like lemon and oranges. So drink orange juice, water with lemon, or tea with lemon so it’s good for your immune system. Also, take vitamins! They are a good way to stay healthy during sick seasons. It’s hard not to be but a big factor of getting sick is because you’re stressed. Stress puts a lot of weight on your shoulders and it’s weighing you down, making you not feel good. We just need to relax and take a deep breath and try not to get stressed out over assignments. As the weather is getting colder, cover up with jackets and scarves. Don’t go out in the freezing weather with a t-shirt. Make sure you are bundled so you don’t catch a cold. There are so many things you can do to maintain healthy during school it just that you have to do them.
