In the beginning of the week, I started getting a little nervous about this midterm project. First off, I hadn’t even started the video but I had an idea of who I was going to ask. Then I took in the wrong information about the project and thought I could ask any questions I wanted too. Thank god Taylor told me that the topic was strictly about critical thinking and any questions you have about it. So I had to lose my first plan and start a new one. In class on Tuesday I knew I needed to ask if my questions were on the right track. I stayed after to ask if I was on the right track and Professor Guarino said I was. It literally made my week a whole lot easier. The only thing that is still kind of new to me is making a movie. I’ve never had to make a movie for school before so I’m starting from scratch. So today I decided to come home for the day and have my younger sister start to teach me the basics of how to use iMovie. So I’m just starting my video today. I know I’m only going to have a few seconds of it but at least I have a written part of what the video is going to be like. So my first questions is “what is critical thinking?” I asked my friend Briana and on the real project she will be video taped but for the rough draft, I just have her response. I’m going to ask this question to everyone I’m interviewing. Other questions I’m going to ask are “have you used critical thinking in college, other than your critical thinking course?”, “how is critical thinking in college different than high school?”, and “have your teachers used critical thinking in the classroom?” For the professors I’m interviewing I’m going to ask “how have you incorporated critical thinking into your courses?” and “do you think critical thinking is an important aspect for college students?” Professor Guarino gave me the idea of even asking a high school teacher how they use critical thinking in their classrooms so I can compare it to college. I think I’m off to the right start but I just need to start filming and getting my video done.
