Yesterday I attended the boy’s hockey game against Farmingdale State. This was the first hockey game I’ve ever been too and I also new nothing about hockey so I knew it would be interesting. Thank god my two friends who I went with played hockey so they could tell me what was going on the whole game. Unlike football, hockey has 3 periods, each lasting 20 minutes. In the first period we score a point, in the second period we scored a point and Farmingdale scored 2 points, and then in the third period both teams scored a point. At the end of the game the score was 4-4. They added 5 minutes to the clock but none of the teams scored. They had to do a shoot out. That’s where each team picks 5 members and it’s only them and the goalie. Farmingdale was first and they got the goal then we were next and we also got the goal. Farmingdale went again and didn’t make it and we didn’t make it either. Farmingdale went again and they didn’t make it but we made it. Farmingdale got to go again and they didn’t make it so we won 6-4! I never knew hockey was so competitive. There were two fights, a referee fell, and players were in the penalty box. I loved going to the game and I’ll definitely go to the next one.
